International Human Rights Day
On December 10th, 1948, the United Nations signed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a document of 30 articles listing the human rights common to all people. Human rights is a concept many people have heard of, but few actually know much about.
International Day for the Abolition of Slavery
According to the United Nations’ International Labor Organization, there were 50 million people living in modern slavery as of 2021. This number has risen significantly in the past five years; since 2016, the amount of those enslaved increased by 10 million, which is a fifth of the current number.
Intersections of Race and Economic Justice at Live2Free’s 7th Annual Fair Trade Fashion Show
On Thursday, October 20th, Vanguard University’s Live2Free club held its 7th annual Fair Trade Fashion Show. Sandra Morgan, coauthor of IVP Academic’s Ending Human Trafficking: A Handbook of Strategies for the Church Today, was awarded the esteemed Wilberforce Award by Atlas Free at its eleventh annual Freedom Gala on Saturday, September 24.
