GCWJ Welcomes New Coordinator

The Global Center for Women & Justice is pleased to announce the hiring of GCWJ's new Coordinator, Clare Warrington.Clare first became involved with anti-trafficking work in 2012 by partnering with 8 Oaks, a non-profit organization that supports child-trafficking survivors in Ghana, Africa. To further her understanding of the complex issues surrounding human trafficking, Clare obtained her bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Services and Intercultural Studies at John Brown University in Northwest Arkansas. There, she spent three years serving student leaders and the local community as an Outreach Service Coordinator. Prior to joining the Global Center, she spent a year as the Director of Operations for a small business in the Kansas City metro area. A native Kansan, Clare is enjoying the opportunity to explore the West Coast, and she is glad to be working in a university setting again.

“I applied to work at GCWJ because pursuing social justice is central to the Gospel. Throughout Scripture, God always fights for the people on the margins, and he commands his people to do the same. Through my work with another anti-human trafficking non-profit organization, I learned that human trafficking disproportionately impacts already-vulnerable populations. I also learned that ending human trafficking requires a multi-faceted, community-based approach. For these reasons, I was drawn to GCWJ’s focus on research, education, advocacy, collaboration, and hope. Here at the center, I am thankful for the opportunity to join in the good work that God has been doing long before I arrived and that he will carry on long after I leave.I am excited to support the fight to end human trafficking in general, but I am most excited to work with students as they join the fight. College students are tenacious, passionate, and ready to change the world, and I am honored to walk alongside them as they lead us all toward a better, brighter future.”

We are excited to welcome Clare Warrington as the organization Coordinator. Clare will play an integral part in the development and growth of the Global Center, tasked with the coordination of GCWJ’s signature events; engaging with donors, students, and strategic partners; and expanding GCWJ’s reach.                  Fun Facts!

• Clare is an avid reader of memoirs, novels, and books related to sociology and psychology, but her favorite book of all time is Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne.
• She is a (very) amateur film fanatic. Favorites include The Graduate, Mad Max: Fury Road, Parasite, and (of course!) The Lord of the Rings trilogy (but NOT The Hobbit. Sorry, Peter Jackson).
• She is an Enneagram 5w4. If you know, you know ;)
• She occasionally writes poetry.
